Meet Cast/Director of Jerry Finnegan’s Sister!

Sara Ogden (Beth Finnegan)

Sara, a senior at CCHS here in Jefferson City, is no newcomer to the stage. She has appeared in Our Town as Emily, Lydia in Pride and Prejudice, Rose in TRIANGLE, Michel in Murder on The Orient Express, and a current cast member in the CCHS forthcoming musical SINGIN’ IN THE RAIN. Sara is the President of the CCHS Thespian Troupe, and after high school intends to study forensic psychology and theatre. When she isn’t embroiled in a show, Sara can be seen serving guests at Dukes on The Boulevard. Dream roles that Sara hopes to embody on stage include a role in Addams Family, Lydia Deetz in BEETLEJUICE, Elizabeth in Pride and Prejudice, and roles in Heathers, Mean Girls, and Phantom of The Opera. Sara finds the greatest challenge to date in this show, as it is the greatest number of lines with the least amount of rehearsal time that she has experienced. Her favorite thing about Jerry Finnegan’s Sister is that she is doing it with one of her favorite people.

Sara gives tons of thanks to her mom, Tammy Ogden, for always believing in her and her dad, Jeff Ogden, for teaching her how fun acting could be through their many DND sessions. She also claims her sister Samantha is the best example an older sister could ask for and Sofie for being her guide, older sibling and most importantly, her best friend. I LOVE YOU ALL!. Sara wants to encourage everyone to support her and her fellow CCHS Thespians for their trip to International Thespian Festival this summer.

Finally, she wants to send a gigantic THANK YOU to Mrs. Courtney LeCure for introducing her to theatre and for her passion and dedication to the arts, which Sara truly looks up to her for. “Because of Mrs. LeCure, I have found something I truly love and will continue the rest of my life. Thank you for making my high school experience the best years of my life.”.

Christian Garza (Brian Dowd)

Christian Garza lives in Jefferson City and is in his first year at State Tech in Linn, MO. He lives at home with his amazing mother, a security guard at the Ameren Nuclear Power Plant, while he waits tables at El Espolon here in Jefferson City. Proir roles he’s played include Darcy in Pride and Prejudice, Jack Scott in High School Musical, and Max in Triangle, all at Capital City High School in Jefferson City. Christian has a bucket list of shows he most wants to do that include: Addams Family, Back To The Future, and Little Shop of Horrors.

Christian stated that the most challenging thing about this show was the sheer memorization of the script in the time frame he’s had (he replaced a former cast member), but the most rewarding thing about the show was the storyline of the script itself along with the rehearsals with Sara and Tim and getting to learn about each other.

Christian gives a shout out to thank his mother who puts up with his whacky theatrics and who supports him through everything. He also wants to thank Mrs. LeCure and Ms. LaCorte for making his first experience in theatre some of his greatest and happiest memories. He added, “HELP SUPPORT CCHS THEATRE!”

Tim Thompson (Director)

Tim is currently the Director of Human Resources for the Jefferson City School District. However, he has spent the last 45 years in the theatre world. He has spent those years doing everything available in High School theatre, graduating college with a degree in Theatre from Southeast Missouri State University, teaching and directing high school and college theatre, and dozens of community theatre shows across Missouri. Most recently in Jefferson City, he directed Blithe Spirit for The Little Theatre of Jefferson City, Last Lists of My Mad Mother for Scene One, and directed a piece in the SAST the summer of 2022. After directing for years, he’s most ready to just jump into roles himself and act on local stages.

Tim’s family consists of his daughter, Mariah who works in Kansas City theatre after attaining her degree in Theatre from UMKC, his son-in-law, Chris, a professional actor in Kansas City and Development Director at Kansas City Ballet, and his son Joshua, who works for the Cape Girardeau Chamber of Commerce. He also relishes anytime he can spend with his granddaughters, Cecilia and Penelope.

Special thanks to these two fine budding performers that have breathed life into Jerry Finnegan’s Sister, and to Mark and Tracy Wegman for allowing us to produce this clever, endearing show! Please continue to support local theatre!!!
